County Fair Party Details:
This is what Mindy said about planning the party- ”I wanted to do a vintage country fair theme for my son’s first birthday. I found an invite that I fell head over heels for and basically planned the entire event around it. Most of the elements of the party were DIY. I sewed all the bunting myself, my husband made the “petting zoo” from a wardrobe box, and the games were all DIY.
The games included: A can toss made of left over formula containers covered in scrapbook paper. A bean bag toss made with baskets from the dollar store and bean bags I made with left over material. Lastly a duckie match where children matched the colors on the bottom of rubber duckies.
Activities included: A “pony ride”, on a rocking horse. A “hayride” in a red wagon filled with hay. A ball pit, an art station, petting zoo barn, and a “water coral.” Lastly, a photobooth made with PVC pipe and a family heirloom quilt.
Each child got to take home a “goldfish” home with them as a prize, which was a plastic fish in bubble bath.
The food served was typical “fair food.? We served soft pretzels, corn dogs, popcorn, kettle corn, fruit, and veggies. The deserts were a favorite though. The “sweets” hutch included: blueberry and peach mini – pies, churros, cotton candy, and caramel apple bites. For beverages we offered: Lemonade, Adult Lemonade, Coke, Pabst Blue Ribbon, and water.
Instead of cake, Grayson ate blueberry pie! He loved every bite!”
