Tutti Fruitty Party Details:
This is what Jesi said about planning the party- ”This was a styled shoot I did to show that wrapping paper is not just for wrapping gifts! There are countless uses for it in any party and I wanted to show how I incorporated it into this one. By staying within the tutti fruity colors (green, orange, yellow, pink, and blue), I also tried to keep it as gender neutral as possible.
The wrapping paper is from a company called Smashcake and Co, and is designed especially by them. Any good quality wrapping paper can be used. I say “good quality” because the really thin paper would be too fragile and difficult to work with. I used each color overlapping to form the backdrop for my table. I wanted to cover the entire wall but unfortunately ran out of yellow…next time I would make sure to cover my backdrop first!
With the same wrapping paper I also covered a big block of styrofoam to lift the cakestand so it could be the main focus of the table. The styrofoam blocks can also be used to stick cakepops, pies on a stick, marshmallow pops, or even just to place food or cakestands on top. You simply wrap it like you would a present and can put ribbon around it or anything you like. The shelves on the little side table were also covered with wrapping paper (I used glue dots to attach). To make the bunting on the front of the table I simply glued the wrapping paper onto cardstock and cut into triangles.
With another pattern or color of wrapping paper of your choice (in my case I used “party ribbon”, made by the same company), I decorated my glass bottles, made flags for my cakepops, and also used as a border to my backdrop. The tissue paper tassels can be easily made at home or purchased from sites such as Kara’s Party Ideas. They are super cute and add a modern touch.
The goodies I made for this party to bring out the “fruity” theme, were small cookies in the shape of lemon and lime slices, colorful cakepops, chocolate covered oreos with confetti sprinkles, lots of colorful macarons, vanilla cupcakes, and of course, the cake! Decorating a cake with frosting and sprinkles is super easy! Once your cake is covered in frosting, with your hand full of sprinkles, place it on the side of the cake. Don’t be afraid to touch the frosting, the sprinkles will act as a barrier. Go around the cake with a handful of sprinkles and gently press each little spot. It helps to place the cakestand or plate on a big roasting pan or even aluminum foil so you can catch the faling sprinkles.
I made vanilla pudding and served them in little ice-cream cups, and also cut up fruit. The shimmer gumballs, tutti fruity marshmallows, and colorful jello mason jars completed my list of goodies.
I hope you liked my party, and can find inspiration and ideas to incorporate into your own celebration”!
