Retro Halloween Party Details:

This is what Christina said about planning the party- “With Halloween right around the corner, it’s always a challenge to come up with something new. I took my inspiration from the adorable printables designed by PartyOn!Designs. I loved the retro feel they gave with just a hint of color. So with that in mind, we went with black & white as our base & added in just pops of color – mostly in the deserts & candy. We scoured the woods nearby for branches, and spray painted them black, putting them into tall candy jars. I love playing with heights and different levels on a table setting. Joplin Designz 3 tiered stand was the perfect fit. The levels are interchangeable too, so I could make it smaller or taller, or even flip the shelves over for a pure white look.

One of the easiest ways to tie a table or display together is the color. In keeping with the black & white theme, we used a combination of glass with white accents made it pop against the black table cloth. We made our own candy jars. Anyone can do it for super cheap!

Supplies you need for your own DIY Candy Jars:
Clean, empty glass jar (pickle jars work great) with the lid
glue gun
candle stick (dollar store or re-purpose one you don’t use anymore)
wooden craft ball
sand paper
Rustoleum white spray paint

Instructions: Sand the wood ball in one spot to create a flat spot. Paint the candle stick, lid, & ball first. Once paint is dry, glue jar onto candle stick. Glue ball, flat side down to the lid. Fill with any treat you want. I like having different heights, so I utilized lots of different size bases and jars to create that effect.

I love styling parties, and started out as a cake artist. So treats are my most favorite part of the table. With this holiday, it can be easy to make things ‘cute’…by keeping the sweets simple, it brought in a sense of elegance….that anyone can do themselves. Pretzels dipped in chocolate, push pops with a cute tag from PartyOn!Designs, cake pops on striped straws, to marshmallows dipped in chocolate on cute wooden sticks – it’s all in how you present it. For the wooden sticks, we painted the ends black & dipped them in glitter….just to make them pop. Cupcakes wrapped in chevron wrappers from PartyOn!Designs & fondant toppers by 4KidsCakes. Glitter apples were provided by EZ Favors Lollipop Shop. Even the candy is cuter when it’s packaged in a fun way. Peanut butter candies filled in little treat sacks were even cuter when we used the candy corn clips made by Tallulah Twinkle Toes. The fun polka dot runner was made by AtoZebra Celeb rations.

Being set outside, pulled in the feel of fall. Adding the cat silhouette by Hoopla Events was the icing on the cake. The 36″balloon gave it a fun feel too.

From the Boo Brew straws served in glassware, to the treat bags for the chocolate covered kettle corn, the printables tied it together well at our beverage station. The ribbon garland was made by AtoZebra Celebrations giving it just one more layer of color.

We added a cute witch to the shoot to show you how easily you could turn this more upscale design into a fancy kids party if you chose to. The witches hat was embellished with feathers & a birdcage & bow by Tallulah Twinkletoes. One of my most favorite decorations was the wreath found hanging on the chair and the one behind the witch. Peckled makes & sells dyed coffee filters that you can use in any craft. Tallulah used them to make a wreath and added one of the Tallulah custom bows to it. You can use the filters in a lot of fun ways – even making them into poms to hang on a backdrop.

I had a blast getting ready for Halloween & putting this party together”.
