Watermelon Picnic Party Details:
This is what Tracy said about planning the party- ”This year, we celebrated Eliza’s 2nd birthday with a small family watermelon picnic. It was simple, but a sweet celebration! The neighboring field was the perfect setting for our watermelon picnic. My goal with this party was to be resourceful and keep it easy. My main purchase was the adorable chalkboard print from Dear Lillie. The rest of the items were gathered from my house and my parents’ house. The red Pottery Barn table came straight from our play room, covered with a handmade eyelet table cloth. My mom had made it for a former party and I have used it again and again. White table cloths and white dishes are great party staples to have on hand. My dad built the garden bench and I borrowed it from my parents’ back porch. I love the feeling of bringing furniture outdoors.
My talented mother-in-law created the watermelon with watercolors and I digitally added it to the collection. It was so perfect! The sweet watermelon cookies were custom designed by Kristie of Peapods. I love her style and was so impressed with her incredible work! The beautiful photos are by the sweetest photographer, Kim Craig Ali. The yummy cake, cupcakes and rosette chocolates are from our wonderful local baker, Creations Bakery.
One of my new favorite punches by Martha Stewart was used to create the decorative eyelet edge on the lunch bags. Add a wooden spoon and collection sticker for an easy Watermelon Picnic lunch. The watermelon fans were printed, cut and added to a paint stick. Lots and LOTS of watermelon, a big field for playing and great weather all made for a fun and easy summer picnic party!”
