Meringues are one of my favorite treats. I just love how they melt in your mouth. I also love Meringues because they are perfect to serve at any party or celebration!

Easy Homemade Mint Meringues Recipe

Ingredients:

2 egg whites

1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar

1/8 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup sugar

1/4 teaspoon mint extract

3 to 5 drops green food color

Directions:

Heat your oven to 200°F. Grease two cookie sheets with cooking spray. In a small bowl, beat egg whites, cream of tartar and salt with mixer until foamy. Add sugar and beat on high speed until sugar is dissolved and stiff peaks form. Mix/beat in mint extract. Spoon mix food coloring, a tiny bit at a time until you get your desired color.

Use disposable decorating bag or gallon-size ziplock bag with 1/2-inch hole cut in one bottom corner of bag (if desired, fit a large star tip in decorating bag or in hole of plastic bag). Spoon meringue into bag and seal the top with a knot or twist. Pipe meringue into 1 1/2 inch puffs onto cookie sheets.

Bake for 2 hours. Immediately remove from cookie sheets and place meringues on a wire rack. Cool about 5 minutes.

Hope you enjoy!

Hi I was wondering if you could make these ahead of time say a week or so and freeze them until the day before you would need them? Thanks in advance!!!

I just put these in the oven. Can’t wait to taste one! They look very pretty. For anyone considering making this recipe, I got about 28 meringues out of the batter. If you need a lot for a party or something you might want to double the recipe.
