Pirate Themed Brother Birthday Party

Shiver me timbers, it’s a fabulous PIRATE THEMED BROTHER BIRTHDAY PARTY submitted by Katie Cogbill of Kaden Ashley Printable Designs!

Katie said- “Last month my two boys, Aidan and Kai, celebrated their 4th and 2nd birthdays. Their birthdays are just 3 days apart, so having a joint party was a no-brainer. Aidan, the 4 year old, loves anything pirate. He was even Captain Hook for Halloween this year. So a pirate party it was! I started off creating the pirate ship invitation. I chose classic pirate colors of red and black and added shades of aqua blue to make it a little more child like. Then it was onto the tablescape. I dressed up a simple black linen with a polka dot overlay that I sewed with fabric from the fabric store. I also created fabric bunting with various colors and patterns of fabric and simply hot glued onto bias tape. Throughout the party you will see Kayden Ashley touches; from the water bottle labels and popcorn cones to creative food tags such as Captain Cogbill’s Catch O’ the Day (Goldfish crackers). The kids all went home with a pirate sword, eye patches and pirate booty. The pirate booty bags made out of plain muslin bags that I customized with a skull and crossbones and the childs name and filled with chocolate coins. Custom cookies and cupcake toppers were created to match my designs by Kristin of Sweet Spot. I added some flair to the PB&J sandwiches using Uncrustables that are found in the freezer section of the grocery store and stamped with a skull and crossbones using a toast stamper and edible ink. This was a fabulous idea that I found from Sweeten Your Day Events. I also pre-scooped the ice cream the night before into paper cups from The Tomkat Studio. The little wooden spoons from The Tomkat Studio were also hand stamped with a skull and crossbones.” Vendors and Credits: Printables and Styling- Kayden Ashley Printable Designs Photography- Jiahn Cerda Photography Cookies and Toppers- Sweet Spot Ice Cream Cups and Spoons- The Tomkat Studio Linens, serving tray and drink container- Encore Event Rentals Linen “pirate booty” bags, wooden spoons, jute twine, pirate patches, gold coins, polkadot balloons, pirate pennant banner- Available in Kara’s Party Ideas Shop
