Halloween Dessert Table

Today I am so excited to feature this  HALLOWEEN DESSERT TABLE submitted by Marisol Figueroa of Modishly Delish! Seriously, such a cute halloween party. The milk ghost bottles...oh MY. LOVE THEM. Everything is just beautiful, Marisol. You are so talented!

Here is what Marisol said about the party- Boo! So, Halloween is right around the corner and it is a very special holiday in my house as it is my husbands birthday. This year he will be 31 on the 31st! For this table I designed a ”Spooky Chic” Halloween Printable Collection that is now available for purchase in my Etsy store. The design incorporates ghosts, bats and a chevron print using only the colors black, white and gray.  I went with this monochromatic color scheme so that those who decided to purchase my printable collection would be able to coordinate it with other colors of their choice. So for example if you wanted a hot pink Halloween party or you wanted to use the color purple, you would not be limited whatsoever! For this design I went with a chartreuse and teal color scheme to use as backing on my paper goods. For the desserts I mainly went with orange. Are you currently planning your Halloween festivities? It’s never too early to start, as I always say! Stores tend to sell out fast!

For the table I made a table linen out of burlap. I also made a ruffled table runner out of plain black cotton fabric. I found the branch in the backyard, spray painted it black. I bought a pack of faux orange leaves and also spray painted them black (leaving some orange visible), then hot glued them onto the branch. The coffins were also painted black and filled with moss, then I layed the skeleton inside.
My mom made the white meringue ghosts and we hung them from the branch using pieces of the dead moss, she did a great job!
Don’t you just love my milk ghosts? I really wanted to do something different to incorporate the beverage, something I hadn’t seen before. So during my thinking I was literally staring at my Zephyrhills Aquapod water bottle, lightbulb! I ripped the bottle wrap and cap plastic and voila, the shape of a ghost somewhat. I cut out pieces of  black cardstock to make the eyes and mouth, filled them with milk and displayed a black and white straw! Adorable huh?
My new favorite tool is the wave punch I bought at Joann’s recently to make the backing of the cupcake toppers. I thought it was a better alternative to the scalloped and plain circle punch. Love it!
Behind the mousse cups you can kind of see the bat shaped grilled cheese sandwiches. I used a bat shaped cookie cutter for those and topped them with my printable food flag.
I wanted the favor tags in my Halloween Printable collection to be different. Using the ghost motif I designed I enlarged the image and added “thank you” and cut them out. They do take a little more time but love the way they look with the chartreuse ribbon and mini favor bag!"

Boy Themed Ice Cream Party!

My next winning party feature goes to this original BOY THEMED ICE CREAM PARTY submitted & styled by Alexis Campbell. I love this! There are so many options for girly ice cream parties...but a boy one?! So cute! I love the orange, blue & green. The little birthday boy couldn't be cuter, too.

Alexis said- "After following your blog for sometime now, I decided to try and do the best I could at throwing my son a fabulous second birthday, We decided to have an ice cream/sweets party for my son Zachary's second birthday. He loves ice cream and loves to put all of the topping on especially sprinkles. We set up an ice cream table and a full sweets table. I made EVERYTHING myself. All of the food was made in my kitchen a few days before the party. I saw the paper art on one of your featured parties and I tried my best to duplicate it for the wall behind the ice cream table. Since my son is in LOVE with fire trucks, we had s fire truck and ambulance come to his party just for him. He was in awe! The party turned out great. The sweet were fantastic and he had a wonderful time. It couldn't have been any better." Great job, Alexis! Thanks for your submission!

'UP' Inspired Birthday Party

This clever UP INSPIRED BIRTHDAY PARTY by Jacki Fanto of Blissfully Sweet Cakes will make your heart soar. Just take a look at that CAKE for starters! Simply AMAZING. Jacki did such a good job at putting this party together. I love the rainbow jello pops, the balloons in the treat cups and the hanging crepe paper rainbow backdrop.

Here are the party details from Jacki-
“For as long as I can remember, my middle son Ben, has had a complete love affair with balloons! He really does want for nothing else and asks for nothing else! He has the kindest and most innocent soul - it makes me sooo proud. He discovered the movie "Up" at the beginning of the year and needless to say we watch the movie EVERY day! Not so bad, I love it too!
I knew I would have a balloon party for Ben, no other choice really, but once Up came around, I knew it had to themed that way also! I also wanted to have a crack at making that house! (more on that later)
I also wanted to make the dessert table colourful and decided to incporate the rainbow colours. I decided to hang strands upon strands of crepe paper to look like it was a suspended rainbow. I loved how that turned out. All the treats I wanted to make rainbow and balloon orientated.
The Up House-
The scale of this house is HUGE! I knew again that I would not and could not cut this cake, so decided to carve and shape from styro! Easy ... not! I felt like an architect, looking at all the different angles of the house as well as the structure. I would hazard a guess that this display cake took about 30+ hours to make! To see the look on Ben's face and every day since then, worth every single second!
Ice cream cone cupcakes-
Wanted to try something different and these definitely were. Took a while for the kids to work out what they were - the surprise was in the inside!
Sweet Treats-
Rainbow sprinkled chocolate brownies, rainbow coloured macarons and vanilla whoopie pies filled with marshmallow icing.
7 layered rainbow jelly-
Love the effect and the kids hovered these down first. All with their personalized Ben spoons.  Wooden spoons and name stamps can be purchased from the Sweet Style online store.
The edible birthday cake and cookies-
It is no secret that I love vintage! I love the look of the rustic buttercream finish, so I made this 6 layered rainbow cake layered and covered in buttercream and simply dotted with balloons. YUMMO! Around the base were balloon bunch cookie pops for the kids as take home treats!  The beautiful Rosanna Inc cake stand can be purchased from the Sweet Style's online store here.
A last minute way to display the M&Ms. I decided to make them into hot air balloons. I just used these gorgeous wooden cups available from Sweet Style and filled them with M&Ms before adding in the balloons on sticks. Ben loved these!”
